In his third decade of practice, Charlie’s litigation experience includes complex commercial disputes and insurance claims involving myriad industries, including real estate, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, construction, professional services, banking, and other industries. He has secured insurance coverage for lawsuits, construction defects, natural disasters, thefts and other types of losses. Notably, he served as co-lead trial counsel in a six-week jury trial that resulted in a $204 million verdict in favor of one of the firm’s policyholder clients.
Charlie also regularly coordinates and litigates complex multi-party disputes. He has coordinated both coverage and the defense of nationwide product liability litigation. In this role, he has appeared in courtrooms across the country and coordinated activities of defense counsel in individual cases, mass torts and multidistrict litigation. In addition, he has negotiated and litigated with insurance companies to secure the defense and indemnification of such lawsuits.
Charlie is a frequent contributor to the firm’s insurance recovery blog, Policyholder Protection, and a frequent lecturer at continuing education conferences and webinars. He also teaches business law and ethics in the MBA program of Butler University’s Lacy School of Business.
Charlie also serves as director of technology and process improvement for the firm’s litigation department. In this role, he oversees the investigation, development and implementation of technologies and processes to improve the firm’s delivery of litigation services, such as the firm’s proprietary CaseHub™ litigation management platform.
