Sarah truly enjoys learning about the businesses she works with, including the processes they develop and implement as well as the products they create. She is able to utilize that knowledge when representing manufacturers, distributors and sellers of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
Sarah is diligent and organized, continuously considering the nuances of the issues her clients face and the big picture impacts on litigation. With significant state and federal courtroom experience, she manages cases through the many stages of pretrial litigation and trial preparation, routinely drafting and arguing dispositive motions and regularly taking and defending fact and expert depositions. Sarah also has considerable experience in alternative dispute resolution methods such as settlement conferences, arbitrations and mediations.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Sarah gained civil litigation experience working at various Chicago law firms. She defended individuals and businesses, including construction and commercial transportation companies, in tort cases involving fatalities, injuries and property damages arising from catastrophic events, automobile and trucking collisions, and products liability and premises liability matters. She has also defended clients in insurance and commercial disputes, including insurance coverage, consumer fraud and bad faith claims, and breach of contract matters.
