Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Shawn practiced at an Indianapolis-based intellectual property law firm where he worked with clients on a broad range of issues relating to patent and trademark law, including associated licensing and litigation matters.
Shawn's patent practice includes orthopaedic and spinal prosthetic implants, engine-management systems for internal combustion engines, hydraulic and electrohydraulic systems for heavy work machines, control and security systems for point-of-sale terminals, manufacturing processes and equipment for semiconductor wafer fabrication, and power generation systems.
Prior to practicing law, Shawn was an engineer with Delco Electronics Corporation where he worked in various areas ranging from electronic hardware assembly to electrochemical circuit-board fabrication.
