Barnes & Thornburg Welcomes New Attorneys

Barnes & Thornburg has added new corporate, labor and employment, and litigation attorneys to its Chicago, Dallas, Detroit Metro, San Diego and South Bend offices.

An associate in the Dallas office, Liz Dankers guides clients – from Fortune 500 companies to individuals, including those in the banking, finance, manufacturing and telecommunications sectors – through the often times uneasy and complex litigation process. Specifically, Dankers handles cases involving contract disputes, government investigations, fraud, trademarks, asset forfeitures, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, products liability, securities class actions, and white collar crime. She earned her J.D. from University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2017 and her B.B.A. from Tarleton State University in 2014.

Combining her in-house knowledge and skills from her time with a global retail brand and a legal technology company, Haley Bergman Fiallo helps financial industry clients navigate complex business transactions, financings and negotiations. Bergman Fiallo counsels clients – lenders, commercial banks, and borrowers – regarding financing transactions, as well as venture capital and real estate investments and contracts. She earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law in 2013 and her B.S. from Cornell University in 2010.

As of counsel in the South Bend office, Amber Neal is a straightforward litigator who represents a range of clients in litigation matters such as complex commercial disputes, corporate bankruptcy proceedings, securities and business fraud, mortgage-backed securities litigation, and Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA) actions, as well as Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) investigations. Neal earned her J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law in 2007, and her B.A. from Denison University in 2002.

Regardless of the type of employment case, Alex Petrik prides himself in providing candid advice for clients throughout each phase of litigation. As an associate in the Detroit Metro office, Petrik focuses his practice on assisting employers facing various employment litigation issues in federal and state courts. Specifically, he counsels and represents employers in a range of actions involving harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. He earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2014 and his B.A. in business administration from Valparaiso University in 2011.

As of counsel in the South Bend office, Christopher Rubey prides himself on finding innovative answers to his clients’ employment concerns. Rubey focuses his practice on counseling clients through a variety of business, commercial and employment litigation matters including defamation, discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and shareholder disputes. He earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2016 and his B.S. in history and political science from Miami University in 2012.

With attention to detail and open communication, corporate attorney Tiffany Tran focuses her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance and general corporate governance. As an associate in the Chicago office, Tran represents public and private companies, startups and nonprofits across diverse industries, including automotive, food and beverage and healthcare, advising on an array of corporate matters. She earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2017 and her B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2014.
