Paul's complex litigation experience includes representing financial institutions, employers, construction companies, healthcare institutions, political subdivisions and other commercial clients in high-stakes commercial litigation before state and federal courts and regulatory agencies.
Paul's commercial litigation clients have also included oil and gas exploration and production companies, a multinational energy company in a large-scale federally regulated pipeline project across Ohio, midstream pipeline companies, and other oil and gas service companies active in the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions in eastern North America.
Paul also has construction industry experience, from top to bottom. He has served as outside general counsel for a roofing company, handling their litigation, internal employment and subcontractor issues. He has litigated subcontractor lien claims pertaining to large pipeline construction projects. Paul also has represented architects and engineers in construction disputes involving commercial projects, as well as political subdivisions and municipalities in construction disputes with contractors.
In addition to his undergraduate and law degrees, Paul completed three years of graduate work towards a Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University, which he utilizes in understanding his commercial clients’ business and legal needs. Paul strives to at all times consider his clients’ business interests when partnering with the client to resolve any disputes using alternative methods when possible and litigation when necessary.
