Michelle’s work is focused on adeptly guiding clients through both internal and government investigations. She also helps clients respond to third-party inquiries and government subpoenas.
Notably, Michelle has harnessed her monitorship-focused experience by coordinating compliance with monitorships for multiple clients. She is also a member of the team assisting the Special Compliance Coordinator appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to monitor, assess and report on the U.S. export control compliance of Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment Corporation, of Shenzhen, China, and ZTE Kangxun Telecommunications Ltd. of Hi-New Shenzhen, China (collectively, ZTE).
Michelle balances her practice with exposure to multiple fields, including extensive experience in finance and healthcare. She has defended clients in False Claims Act actions and regularly represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation including securities, breach of contract, tort and general commercial matters.
Michelle is dedicated to pro bono work, having represented low-income clients in successful immigration, veteran’s affairs, family court and habeas cases. She also counsels non-profit organizations in connection with internal and government investigations.
Prior to joining the firm, Michelle gained valuable experience with a global law firm and a London-based international bank. She navigated through clients on the east coast in New York, Maryland and Washington, D.C. to establish her multiregional practice.
