Spotlights

Michelle Nicholson: I Am Barnes & Thornburg

I AM...

  • Fully vaccinated – to protect myself, my family, and my community
  • Hopeful that our country and democracy will be able to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 and partisanship divides
  • A boy mom! I might have to shop on the boring side of the clothing store, but nothing beats little boy snuggles
  • A native Ohioan – who spent 11 years in New York, where I learned about good bagels and public transportation, and three years in Baltimore, where I learned about blue crabs and the Orioles
  • A lapsed marathon runner (shockingly after three little boys, I no longer have the time or energy for four-hour runs on Saturdays)
  • From a family of Buckeyes who love to remind me that I am not. I’m actually a Columbia Lion, but still a diehard Buckeye fan!
  • A lover of Spain, in particular Sevilla. I could live on jamón Ibérico and manchego cheese.
  • A reader. The last book I read was Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, but my tastes are pretty diverse — anything from chick lit to history.
  • An Olympics superfan. Ask me how bummed I was when last summer’s Olympics were postponed and I couldn’t spend half my maternity leave watching Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky and Megan Rapinoe.
  • Submitting a probably unacceptably dated picture – because it’s hard to find a picture you really like!
