Rosie Acosta: I Am Barnes & Thornburg

I AM...

  • Blessed and proud to be the daughter of amazing Puerto Rican parents who I fiercely protect and care for. My mother survived breast cancer and still works at 80 and my father just retired at 83.
  • Born in New York, but very fortunate to be molded and raised in the traditions and values of Puerto Rico, “La Isla del Encanto”
  • An avid fan of wrestling and football (yes, I am a wrestling fan and yes, I know it’s scripted)
  • Mom to my rescue, PJ, and a huge advocate of pet adoptions, as I have been mom to two rescued four-legged furballs. The pain of losing them is unbearable, but the unconditional love and affection is like nothing else.
  • Someone who loves listening and dancing to Spanish music, especially Salsa and Merengue
  • A person who was named after the landlady of the house I was born in. My mother thought I was going to be a boy, so she agreed to name me after her if I was girl. SURPRISE!
  • Happiest when with my family –  I have the best extended family in the world with cousins, aunts, and uncles who are like no others
  • Someone who is not impressed by money, status or looks, but how well you treat others
  • A fluent writer, speaker and reader of Spanish; next I will conquer French!
  • Forever a New York Yankees fan
