When: Mon., Nov. 4, 2013 | 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. ET | Register Now

Where: This is a video conference and will be offered at one of our office locations or via webcast. Please indicate where you will attend when registering for this event.

Program Overview

If you have thought about one or more of the following questions, join us by webcast or at select locations nationally:

  1. What are the experiences of risk assessors and risk managers over the past two years, using the Reference Concentration (RfC) for trichloroethylene (TCE) from IRIS to evaluate contaminated sites?
  2. What is the nature of the uncertainty associated with the RfC value?
  3. What are the implications of the TCE RfC on site remediation, vapor intrusion assessments, and stakeholder/community involvement?
  4. How does US EPA incorporate this uncertainty into the derivation of RfC values in general, and specifically the RfC for TCE?
  5. How are developmental toxicity endpoints incorporated into the derivation of the RfC value for TCE, and how are these endpoints considered in risk management decisions?
  6. How can good science and good judgment be applied to make informed risk management decisions based on the RfC for TCE?
  7. How can regulators and stakeholders improve the risk assessment and risk management of sites with TCE?

These questions and more are the subject of a guidance document and a web-based and live videoconference presentation that are focused on the practical realities of assessing and regulating TCE exposure and risks at contaminated sites. The guidance document was developed through the Alliance for Risk Assessment, a non-profit group committed to improving the clarity, consistency and transparency of the risk assessment process. All interested parties, including governmental entities, can access additional information about ARA and its past work on TCE guidance at: http://allianceforrisk.org/Projects/TCE.html.

Please join us and take the opportunity to hear and discuss the most recent science information translated into sound Practical Guidance for TCE. Your participation is welcomed and encouraged!
