Steven represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in jurisdictions throughout the United States. He actively participates in virtually all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, summary judgment briefs, and defending and taking depositions and preparing expert witnesses for trial.
He gained skills , prior to and during law school, as a law clerk with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and for the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security; as a political adviser on a congressional campaign; and as an intern on Capitol Hill and in the House of Commons of Canada. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Steven was in private practice in Indianapolis.
While earning his J.D., Steven received the ALI-CLE Scholarship and Leadership Award in recognition for being one of five graduates who best represents a combination of scholarship and leadership. He also received the Dean’s Award (highest grade) in Intensive Trial Advocacy, Legal Writing, Advanced Legal Research, and Business Basics for Attorneys.
