Spencer Bates

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg full time, Spencer was a summer associate for the firm and drafted legal documents for litigation, contract, insurance, and employment law matters. He also conducted research, assisted in discovery, and supported case strategy.

He works with clients as they move through the litigation process, with a focus on case management and strategy.

Spencer also gained experience as an intern for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, where he advocated for children and clients, and helped them secure mandated public education accommodations. He drafted legal memoranda and researched overlapping statutory and regulatory schemes to investigate educational compliance issues.
