Sean plays an active role in assisting with pre-litigation preparation, pleadings, discovery and motions practice in complex IP litigation matters. He has represented both patent owners and defendants in patent infringement actions in Indiana, Texas, Connecticut and Delaware.
Sean’s adaptability and determination have been instrumental in helping client teams craft practical solutions on a wide range of IP matters. In addition, Sean has a keen interest in biology, chemistry, materials sciences and engineering that aid him in guiding clients toward an effective patent process.
Prior to practicing law, Sean spent three years in regulatory affairs as a clinical studies coordinator with BioFire Diagnostics, Inc., in Salt Lake City. There, Sean worked to achieve FDA approval for a variety of biological agent identification kits and molecular diagnostics systems that serve the biodefense community, first responders, laboratories and physicians.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg full-time, Sean was a summer associate and a law clerk in the firm's Indianapolis office. He also served as a legal intern and intellectual property extern with BioFire Diagnostics.
