Keith grew up in Southern Indiana and was the first of his family to attend college, an upbringing that helps him to relate to, and be relatable to, union representatives and members. With a communication style that is down to earth, respectful and direct, Keith made a point of building rapport not only with his clients, but also among their union representatives in order to serve as an advocate and facilitator to realizing a favorable outcome. As vice president and general counsel for a major automotive supplier based in Detroit, he developed a respect for the budgeting process of major businesses and, as a result, seeks to be diligent when it comes to conserving his client’s resources. Keith’s experience in-house gave him a better understanding of and sensitivity to the underlying challenges major businesses face when investing in outside legal counsel.
He has decades of experience representing employers across the country in collective bargaining, strikes, contract administration and arbitration, as well as assisting business clients in union avoidance matters, from supervisor and manager training programs to full-scale campaigns to maintaining a union free status.
In addition, Keith provided day-to-day client counseling, including guidance on large and small reductions in force, plant/facility closing issues, and general labor and employment law compliance matters.
Keith was a frequent speaker for a variety of business and legal organizations.
