COLUMBUS - Barnes & Thornburg LLP has added Gregory Stype to its Columbus office as a partner in the Government Services and Finance Department. Stype was previously a partner at Squire Patton Boggs.
Stype focuses his practice on public and infrastructure finance and economic development. He has served as counsel to state government entities, including the Ohio Public Facilities Commission, the Ohio Office of Budget and Management, and the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, as well as counties, municipalities and other local entities, new community authorities and other special districts.
Stype also counsels clients on public-private partnerships for residential and commercial development and redevelopment projects. His experience covers the full range of economic development tax increment financing programs and related tax incentives. Stype is familiar with both the public and private sector client perspectives, as well as legal sensitivities of the financial markets.

In addition to his legal practice, Stype is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and has been named a Fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel. He is also a member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
Stype received his J.D., cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and his B.A. from The College of Wooster. He is admitted to practice in the state of Ohio.
