Our Uniqueness

Ensuring that all, regardless of background, have what they need to fairly compete and succeed is at the heart of Barnes & Thornburg’s long-standing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Indeed, the declaration, “iamBT” brands our approach to the work because we want all our talent to know that they are an integral part of team BT and the uncommon value we offer our clients.

True progress though, takes a relentless commitment to culture-building, the deliberate investment in the career of every individual who joins us, and the intentional and strategic integration of these core values into the business of the firm. We are relentless here at Barnes & Thornburg. Indeed, our commitment in this regard is not just something we do. Positioning all our talent to win is who we are.

IAMBT

Our mission is simple: to position all our talent to win – individually, collectively and for our clients.
Our Core Pillars

DIVERSITY MATTERS

The Diversity Matters podcast was created to make room for courageous conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession. At the core of Barnes & Thornburg’s commitment to this work is, and has always been, to position all talent to win, regardless of background. Fostering mindful dialogue around best practices in this regard is critical to achieving this objective.

Talent Resource Groups

Talent Resource Groups (TRGs) are, by definition, “groups formed around a shared interest or common goal.” Open to everyone, our TRGs serve as yet another way for us to care for our most valuable asset—our talent—and to deliberately cultivate a work environment that is empowering for all. Barnes & Thornburg currently has 10 TRGs. Because they are formed organically from needs articulated by our teammates and because we are listening, more are certainly on the way.
