Ted understands unclaimed property from both the holder and the state's perspective. He appreciates there are competing interests, but believes most unclaimed property issues can be resolved without needless strife. He assists clients navigating complex issues surrounding annual compliance, multistate examinations, and voluntary disclosure programs. Crucial is that he is keenly aware of the best practices for a voluntary disclosure agreement (VDA) review or an examination, and can craft creative and efficient solutions to complex unclaimed property problems.
Most recently, Ted was a manager in KPMG’s national unclaimed property practice where he provided clients with a full range of unclaimed property consulting services. Whether under a multistate audit, participating in VDA programs or filing annual reports, Ted guided his clients toward fair and practical resolutions to unclaimed property matters.
His knowledge and skillset as an unclaimed property professional comes from having conducted and managed numerous unclaimed property examinations at Specialty Audit Services, LLC (SAS), a third-party audit firm serving Delaware's Department of Finance and approximately 25 other states. During his time at SAS, Ted rose quickly through the ranks, gaining management responsibility and showcasing his ability to lead, educate and build teams.
Ted is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Pennsylvania with more than 14 years of accounting experience, including nearly seven years focused exclusively on unclaimed property. His knack for seeing the big picture stems from his early career in public accounting at ParenteBeard (now Baker Tilly) and internal audit roles at Fortune 500 companies, including Aramark and AmerisourceBergen.
When not working, Ted enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, trips to the beach, coaching youth baseball, and a few rounds of golf when time permits.
