Kate Y. Jung is an associate in the Indianapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg and a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Department. Kate focuses her practice primarily on preparing and prosecuting patent applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Kate has conducted prior art searches and draft patentability opinion letters for inventors and drafted non-provisional patent applications and prepared responses to office actions for the Advanced Patent Clinic at The John Marshall Law School. She also has experience preparing responses to office actions from USPTO, Canadian Intellectual Property Office, and the European Patent Office; conducting prior art searches using published patents and scientific journals; and drafting memoranda regarding patentability, validity and infringement.
Kate also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable James Sullivan in the Circuit Court of Cook Country in Illinois.
