A Barnes & Thornburg team led by Andrew J. Galvin of the firm’s San Diego office won a complete defense verdict after a five-week jury trial on behalf of a real estate development firm.
The complaint alleged that the defendant conducted an improper foreclosure sale of intellectual property that secured a loan between the parties. At trial, the plaintiff sought damages in excess of $100 million. After deliberating for less than three hours, the jury returned verdicts for the defense on all of the plaintiff’s claims and found in favor of the defendant on its cross-claim for indemnification.
The Barnes & Thornburg team included Andrew J. Galvin, Ali M. M. Mojdehi, Allison Rego, and Andrew P. Young.
