INDIANAPOLIS —The Indiana Lawyer has named Barnes & Thornburg attorney Thomas J. Lyons III as an Up and Coming Lawyer and paralegal Lottie Wathen as a Legal Support Star as part of its annual Leadership in Law Awards. Lyons and Wathen were awarded for their legal achievements and professional and community involvement.
Lyons is a member of the Corporate Department and concentrates his practice in U.S. securities law and financial regulation, working with clients on matters involving corporate governance matters, securities, derivatives, financial institutions, investment management, private investment funds, and mergers and acquisitions. Outside of his legal work, Lyons, who practices in the firm’s Indianapolis office, serves on the Legal Personnel-Law Student Recruiting Committee and is involved with mentoring Barnes & Thornburg’s summer associates.
Wathen, recipient of the Legal Support Star, is a paralegal in the Indianapolis office. She works with attorneys and clients in the areas of commercial litigation, toxic torts and product liability. Wathen currently serves as chair of the Indiana State Bar Association Affiliate Member Committee, primary delegate of the Indiana Paralegal Association for the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, and an advisory board member of the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis Paralegal Program.
The Indiana Lawyer honored award recipients during an event on May 18 in Indianapolis. They also will be featured in an upcoming edition of the publication.
