CHICAGO – Barnes & Thornburg has named first-year law student Ben Morton as a recipient of its 2023 1L Diversity Scholarship. Morton will be a summer associate in the firm’s Chicago office.
Morton is a student at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law and he also is pursuing an MBA from the university’s Kellogg School of Management. He is co-president of the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center and a member of the JD/MBA Association, OUTLaw and JLSA.

I’ve been tremendously impressed by the genuine interest and effort the attorneys have shown in getting to know me both professionally and personally.”
A graduate of Williams College, Morton is a founder of Jogg, a food delivery technology and concierge amenity for commercial properties. He also was a law clerk at The Rooth Law Firm in Evanston, Ill., and was a financial analyst at Visa, Inc. in San Francisco. He also completed a summer certificate program at Harvard Business School’s CORe.

The scholarship is open to first-year law students with a demonstrated commitment to positive change on the diversity, inclusion and equity (DEI) front and to contributing meaningfully to the DEI goals of Barnes & Thornburg and the legal profession.
