ATLANTA – Stephen Weizenecker, a partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Atlanta office, was one of 13 lawyers listed for entertainment/sports law in the 2016 Legal Elite list in Georgia. The list is published by Georgia Trend magazine and shines the spotlight on selected attorneys from more than 300 law firms in more than 30 cities across Georgia.
Weizenecker focuses his practice on entertainment-related business including tax incentives, financing, mergers, acquisitions and intellectual property matters for film, television, and videogame clients. He is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department and Entertainment, Media and Sports Practice Group.
Weizenecker is member of numerous professional organizations. He is a member of the Georgia Governor’s Advisory Commission on Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment. He serves on the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Forum on Sports and Entertainment Industries and is the former Editor-in-Chief of the ABA’s Entertainment and Sports Lawyer publication. He is also the immediate past Chair of the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. In 2016, he was selected by Georgia Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle to serve on the Joint Legislative Study Committee for Music and Economic Development.
