Program Overview: Over the past few months, there has been a significant increase of collective actions filed by unpaid interns claiming that they were actually employees who were denied wages and benefits. The resulting decisions and settlements have left companies questioning their own situations and the future of their internship programs. Mark Kittaka's presentation will cover both for-profit and non-profit organizations, providing insight into the evaluation of internship programs. Additionally, Mark will touch on the Department of Labor’s crackdown on employers improperly designating employees as “independent contractors” as well.
Cost and Registration: This seminar will be free to all Chamber members and $10 for non-members.
