Barnes & Thornburg has earned Mansfield 6.0 certification after a yearlong review by Diversity Lab.
Diversity Lab, which recognizes law firms for their demonstrated commitment to diversity based on a structured certification process, has recognized Barnes & Thornburg as among the law firms that have achieved diversity in its leadership roles in 2022-2023.
Mansfield 6.0 certification measures the structural changes and steps the firm has taken over the past year to ensure its paths to leadership – including lateral hiring, client pitch teams, promotions, appointments, and more – are open and transparent to all qualified lawyers.
Mansfield certification also focuses on broadening the slate of talent considered for the aforementioned opportunities by considering qualified talent that included at least 30 percent historically underrepresented lawyers – such as women, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities.
Barnes & Thornburg undertook this effort alongside other firms and with the support of clients and legal departments that are also participating in Mansfield. Like them, the firm remains dedicated to opening the door wider to all qualified lawyers.
