CHICAGO – Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) has named Barnes & Thornburg to its Pro Bono Recognition list for the sixth year in a row in recognition of the firm’s dedication to pro bono service in 2020.
Barnes & Thornburg was one of 47 firms in Illinois that were recognized during a June 16 virtual reception to honor law firms and corporations for their contributions to pro bono by serving clients in need throughout Illinois. Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton spoke and gave a virtual tour of pro bono activities throughout the state.
“We are deeply grateful for the recognition that PILI has bestowed on us for the sixth year in a row,” said Kevin Driscoll, pro bono administrator for the firm’s Chicago office. “We have worked diligently in the Chicago office to increase and enhance our pro bono activities. This recognition is a testament to our firm’s long-standing tradition of providing pro bono services to those in need.”
PILI recognized firms that met various criteria, including providing an average number of pro bono services hours, increasing hours year over year, and adoption of innovative steps to expand pro bono efforts, among others.
PILI engages with members of the legal community who share the organization’s mission of engaging, inspiring and empowering those who are advancing the concept of equal access to justice.
