INDIANAPOLIS – Barnes & Thornburg attorney Jessica M. Lindemann has been named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s annual Forty Under 40 list that recognizes up-and-coming business professionals in Central Indiana.
Lindemann, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, was selected from more than 200 nominations. She cited being inspired by her parents’ careers and commitment to community service and social justice as an influence in her career choice. She represents clients in a range of commercial business disputes with a focus on contract rights, securities, trade secret claims, product liability defense, antitrust claims, and shareholder litigation. She has been involved in cases at all stages nationwide in both state and federal courts.
Besides her work at Barnes & Thornburg, the selection committee noted her prestigious clerkship for a highly regarded federal judge in Boston and her position as an assistant attorney general in Massachusetts focusing on civil rights. It was the latter appointment where she was an integral member of the team that successfully challenged the Defense of Marriage Act in federal court, working with experts and playing a primary drafting role in the winning summary judgment brief.
In addition to her professional achievements, Lindemann is deeply involved in the Indianapolis community. She is a board member for March of Dimes, Central Indiana. She has served on the program and volunteer committee for Child Advocates and on an executive leadership team for Pass the Torch for Women Foundation.
Lindemann earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2008, where she was notes editor of the Harvard Law Review. She earned a bachelor’s degree with highest distinction from Indiana University in 2005 as a Kelley Scholar.
Lindemann and the others were selected by a committee of IBJ leadership and former Forty Under 40 honorees.
