MINNEAPOLIS (August 23, 2016) – Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Christopher W. Fowlkes has joined the firm’s Minneapolis office as a partner in the Litigation Department. Fowlkes, whose practice focuses on product liability and commercial litigation, previously was a partner at Bowman and Brooke LLP.

A respected litigator in Minnesota, Fowlkes has represented several Global 500 companies across a wide span of complex product liability issues and multiparty commercial litigation matters. He has worked closely with clients to help develop and implement effective national defense strategies in litigation cases stemming from similar defects with multiple plaintiffs.

“Chris is a remarkable lawyer with a wealth of experience in product liability law across several industries, notably automotive, manufacturing, and consumer products,” said Connie Lahn, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Minneapolis office. “As a highly respected lawyer in the Minneapolis business community, we’re delighted to welcome him to the firm and know he will be an asset to our clients in Minneapolis and across the U.S.”

In addition to his commercial litigation practice, Fowlkes also has notable personal injury and property damage litigation experience stemming from cases involving the alleged manufacturing negligence, defective design, and improper maintenance of various products and services.

Fowlkes received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and his B.A. from the University of Minnesota. He is admitted to practice in the state court of Minnesota, and before the U.S. District Courts for the District of Minnesota and for the Eastern District of Michigan.
