Sal LaViña, chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Real Estate Department, will participate in a virtual discussion entitled “FinCEN Final Rule: New Residential Real Estate BOI Reporting Requirements, Compliance Obligations, Industry Impact” alongside Jonathan N. Halpern of Holland & Knight and Marina Olman-Pal of Greenberg Traurig.

The webinar will discuss the Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network's (FinCEN) long-awaited final rule to increase transparency in non-financed residential real estate transactions, which will significantly impact covered real estate entities by implementing extensive new reporting obligations. The panel will address who is covered by the proposed rule, the reporting requirements and best practices to prepare for compliance.
