National Association of Credit Management Law Firm Forum

On March 24, Deb Thorne of the Chicago office presented to the National Association of Credit Management Law Firm Forum. Deb spoke about what law firm accounts receivable departments should know to protect payments of receivables. Deb's presentation included a discussion of the Bankruptcy Code as it relates to the employment of professionals, including "ordinary course professionals" and the best way to make sure that law firms get paid for the work they do in a bankruptcy case. The defense of preferences and the best ways to structure fee arrangements to provide for payment was also discussed.
