During Linda McGirr’s tenure as a paralegal with the firm, her main areas of concentration have been complex litigation matters throughout the United States in the defense of product liability and toxic torts actions, and other personal injury litigation. Linda’s ability to organize and analyze information makes her an asset to the lawyers and clients she serves.
Linda’s responsibilities include extensive research and litigation support through collection of employment, medical and insurance records, and any history of plaintiffs’ prior litigated matters. Upon obtaining the required records, Linda assists in the document analysis to ascertain the impact on the current case for liability and damages.
Moreover, Linda assists in determining documents responsive to discovery requests, locating and interviewing witnesses, locating and working with expert witnesses, deposition preparation and trial assistance. She also assists in keeping the client informed on the case status through reports as requested.
Linda’s decades of experience as a paralegal make her a valued member of the client team. For Linda, there are very few surprises when it comes to assisting on even the most large-scale or complex litigation claims. She is appreciated for her steadfast focus on the task at hand and drive to provide a thorough and high-quality work product.
In addition, Linda’s pro bono activities have included working with the Heartland Pro Bono Commission, Julian Center and the Protective Order Pro Bono Project.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg in in 1997, Linda was employed as a paralegal with a manufacturer specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of conveyor systems. Her primary responsibilities were that of a litigation liaison working with attorneys throughout the country to develop the defense of pending personal injury lawsuits.
