While Chad’s practice is national in scope, many of his cases are before Delaware’s esteemed federal and state courts. He has successfully resolved litigation involving millions to hundreds of millions of dollars in value in all three of Delaware’s top courts – the District of Delaware, the Court of Chancery, and Delaware Superior Court. Chad’s trial wins include a $31 million jury verdict in a hotly contested patent infringement and trade secrets case.
As a special discovery master in the District of Delaware, Chad has held hearings and issued written opinions on issues ranging from motions to strike new infringement and invalidity theories to complex attorney-client privilege disputes.
Chad also prioritizes service. Because of his work representing a mentally disabled prisoner in an Eighth Amendment case, he was awarded the 2021 Christopher W. White Distinguished Service Award by the Delaware Bar Association. Chad currently serves as co-chair of the District of Delaware’s Federal Trial Practice Seminar, and he has long held various leadership roles in the ABA Section of Litigation. He is now appointed to the ABA’s Justice for All Task Force and previously served as chair of the Section’s Intellectual Property Litigation Committee.
