Detail-oriented and an active listener, Cody strives to understand each of his client’s needs so he can provide goal-oriented client service to help them reach their full potential.
In addition to M&A, he assists with financing, securities, and asset, stock, merger, and reorganization transactions. Cody also advises national and state banks and individuals in asset-based, real estate, secured and unsecured loans, loan sales and workouts. He counsels nonprofit organizations and related entities on the unique laws impacting tax-exempt organizations.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg full-time, Cody was a summer associate with the firm. He worked on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and joint ventures.
Cody gained valuable transactional experience as a legal intern with Camelot Illinois, where he drafted contracts, privacy policies, and terms and conditions related to the state lottery. Before entering law school, he worked for two National Hockey League teams in business operations.
