She defends individuals and business entities in a variety of local, state and federal claims and actions, including professional liability, deceptive trade practices, breach of contract, premises liability, and securities fraud, as well as real estate disputes and dram shop actions.
Moreover, Karina routinely conducts research for and drafts pleadings, discovery requests and responses, evidentiary motions, and pretrial and dispositive motions. She takes and defends depositions of both parties and experts. Additionally, Karina assists in preparing legal case assessments and developing defense strategies to mitigate cases before trial, when appropriate, to early settlement or through mediation. Her goal is to help her clients achieve a resolution that meets their needs as efficiently as possible.
Karina has drafted successful discovery and evidentiary motions and a petition for writ of mandamus to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, as well as other demands and settlement negotiations on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Karina practiced with an Am Law 200 firm in Dallas, where she defended individuals and businesses in a variety of civil litigation actions. Prior to that, Karina practiced with a midsize Dallas plaintiffs’ personal injury firm. Clients benefit from Karina’s diverse practice, which allows her to provide a tailored perspective and pursue a rigorous case strategy throughout the litigation life cycle.
In her free time, Karina enjoys traveling internationally.
