OVERVIEW

Julia Stepanova has extensive experience representing a diverse mix of clients, including Fortune 100 companies, in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings. Her practice focuses on sensitive and high-stakes disputes in highly regulated industries, such as medical device, pharmaceutical, timeshare, and financial services.

An ardent and creative advocate, Julia represents clients in virtually all stages of litigation, beginning with motion practice and through discovery, trial, and appeal. She also handles internal and government investigations and represents clients in connection with administrative proceedings, most recently securing a multi-million dollar victory before a Connecticut state regulator for a multinational corporation that provides information technology, consulting, and business process services.

Julia’s passion for art, culture and language – she was born and raised in Russia – is reflected in her legal work. Over the course of her practice, she has litigated several high-profile art law cases, including a cross-border breach of contract dispute that involved a world-renowned Picasso sculpture and litigation over one of the world’s rarest diamonds.

Julia values building relationships with her clients and colleagues alike, and her ability to connect with individuals across a business in order to facilitate a seamless resolution of a dispute is of the utmost importance to her. She makes the priority of her clients her priority.

Prior to joining the firm, Julia practiced with two other national law firms in New York and Miami.

During law school, Julia interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, where she played an active part in an investigation of an improper “short squeeze” in bonds by a hedge fund advisor and his advisory firm, resulting in a large settlement and admission of liability.

Julia is not regularly admitted to practice in the local courts of Texas.
