OVERVIEW

Dedicated and driven to create innovative solutions for his clients and their businesses when they encounter disputes, particularly those in the aviation, bankruptcy, financial regulation, insurance and tax arenas, Joshua Franklin is focused on providing the right guidance at the right time.

Joshua seeks to understand his clients’ businesses and their needs, which helps him advise on the best way to resolve disputes. He strives to stay abreast of ever-changing rules and regulations that may have an impact on his clients. When litigation looms, he prepares pretrial briefings and virtually all types of motions, as well as jury instructions, and drafts various discovery requests for pending state and federal cases.

Joshua is approachable, confident and comfortable, even in high-pressure situations. While he values being a team player, Joshua seeks out ways to jump in quickly and lend a hand.

Prior to joining the firm full-time, Joshua was a summer associate and law clerk in the Minneapolis office, where he researched various regulations, statutes and case law for a range of client matters, including  guidance on offshore accounts for foreign banks.

While earning his J.D., Joshua was a law clerk with U.S. Bancorp, where he drafted responses to customer demands for reimbursement and performed research related to the Fair Credit Billing Act. He also has experience handling marriage dissolutions and preparing applications of permanent residence for prospective citizens. Additionally, Joshua managed caseloads as a trial division intern with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Outside of his practice, Joshua is passionate about building sustainable equity in urban communities by supporting small and innovative businesses. He is an entrepreneur himself who started his own small business that assists communities in Minnesota and New York, his home state, with personal and professional development, which has since evolved to a collaborative space for entrepreneurs to collaborate and share ideas with business across different sectors.

Joshua is not regularly admitted to practice in the local courts of Minnesota.
