With experience in IP acquisition, prosecution, transfer, as well as defensive and brand protection litigation, Josh helps to deliver results consistent with a holistic understanding of a client’s portfolio.
On behalf of clients, he regularly drafts patent applications for foreign and domestic prosecution including utility, design, provisional, nonprovisional, and various continuations, and works on matters involvement trademark infringement, trademark counterfeiting and patent infringement.
While pursuing his bachelor’s degree, Josh worked alongside student and faculty researchers to study exoplanet transit and the brightness of variable stars through direct observation and the use of data gathered by the Kepler spacecraft. His work contributed to the fine-tuning of digital models for studying magnetic starspot activity using brightness data gathered by terrestrial telescopes. He later drew on this work in pursuing his master’s degree, focusing on wireless signal processing technologies patents.
During law school, Josh worked as a law clerk with multiple IP firms in Chicago, including Barnes & Thornburg, before joining the firm full-time.
An avid guitar player and lover of classic cars, Josh spends his personal time learning about and working with any device that sends a signal, flips a switch, burns fuel or makes music.
