Passionate about real estate law and the local, regional and national industry as a whole, Joe Perruzzi keeps his focus on deal-making and putting his clients’ business objectives first. He advises on numerous areas of commercial and multifamily real estate development, ranging from site control and acquisition to financing and sale.
Joe’s experience includes virtually all phases of commercial real estate, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and development. He is also skilled in advising on affordable housing-related endeavors, having represented syndicators, investors and developers in low-income housing tax credit transactions on a nationwide scale.
Joe’s clients include developers, investors, funds and commercial property owners. He drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, leases, partnership and operating agreements; facilitates and negotiates the financing involved in real estate transactions; and coordinates due diligence.
Joe has been involved in transactions ranging from millions to tens of millions of dollars in value. Notably, he recently closed a number of large-scale multi-family real estate transactions with complex land use restrictions and condominium components.
Appreciated by clients and colleagues for his initiative, accountability and receptiveness, Joe believes in serving as a conduit for finding common ground between his clients and their partners. At the center of his practice is a commitment to constructing productive relationships of trust.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Joe served as an associate attorney for Wendy's International, LLC. Joe’s hands-on experience working for Wendy’s helped him to understand the intricacies of how businesses operate, as well as the absolute need for cost conservation and risk mitigation.
