Businesses turn to David Weldon when the stakes are high and the path forward is unclear. A trusted advisor to business owners, in-house counsel, and HR leaders, David delivers practical, strategic solutions across the full spectrum of labor and employment law. Whether it’s navigating a complex workforce dispute, minimizing liability exposure, or solving the day-to-day challenges that come with managing employees and unions, David helps clients stay ahead of problems — not just react to them.

When disputes escalate, David is a relentless advocate. He defends employers in state and federal courts nationwide in high-stakes litigation involving trade secrets, restrictive covenants, breach of contract, wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. He also represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and analogous state agencies — bringing the same intensity and strategic rigor to every forum.

David doesn’t just resolve problems — he helps clients prevent them. He partners with employers to build stronger, more resilient workplaces by advising on recruitment and hiring, background checks, performance management, harassment and discrimination prevention, leaves of absence, accommodation requests, wage and hour compliance, and discipline and discharge matters. He also develops the tools employers need to protect their interests, including offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, employee handbooks, personnel policies, and separation agreements. He regularly conducts management trainings that equip leadership teams to handle sensitive workplace issues with confidence. In the M&A context, David conducts thorough labor and employment diligence and counsels prospective buyers and sellers on the workforce risks and opportunities that can make or break a deal.

David brings deep experience to traditional labor matters for both union and non-union employers. He represents employers in grievance arbitration hearings and provides hands-on guidance through union-organizing campaigns, election proceedings, and the full range of labor relations challenges. At the bargaining table, David serves as chief company spokesperson, drafts company proposals, and develops negotiation strategies designed to protect his clients’ operational flexibility and bottom line.
