OVERVIEW

A fierce and effective advocate, trial and appellate attorney, Christine Skoczylas represents clients in a wide range of state and federal court litigation, class actions, arbitrations, and appellate matters involving such issues as contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, consumer fraud, and product liability.

Christine is no stranger to the courtroom. She has taken bench and jury trials to verdict and represented clients in mediation and arbitration settings across the country. She brings experience as first and second chair in high-stakes trials and has the requisite stamina needed to go the distance on her clients’ behalf. This is best illustrated by the fact that she second-chaired a marathon 60+ day bench trial in the Circuit Court of Cook County (IL).

With her significant pre-trial experience as well, including taking and defending dozens of fact and expert witness and Rule 30(b)(6) depositions, drafting and arguing critical dispositive and pre-trial motions, and managing all aspects of trial preparation, Christine has the skills necessary to help clients navigate even the most complex litigation, from intake through resolution.

Her commercial litigation and trial experience includes obtaining a substantial judgment, with punitive damages, for a plaintiff in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Christine’s clients come from diverse industries nationwide, including hotel, restaurant and hospitality; hair care and cosmetics; healthcare; investment banking; litigation finance; manufacturing; and petrochemical.

Prior to her legal career, Christine worked as a research biologist, with a specific focus on cancer biology and neurobiology. She is experienced in an array of scientific techniques and has been intimately involved in designing and implementing new protocols and procedures in the laboratory. Notably, Christine has published four articles in leading scientific journals, including a review of the molecular mechanisms involved in virally induced mesothelioma.
