She is involved in new matter intake for the firm, from conflict checking and resolution through documentation of matter engagements. As part of that process, she also regularly addresses questions regarding securing consent from attorneys and clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Rachel served as deputy trial counsel for the State Bar of California. In that role, she reviewed complaints to identify potential attorney ethical violations, investigated and analyzed possible misconduct, and recommended actions to pursue or resolve complaints. In this capacity, she also represented the State Bar of California in State Bar Court proceedings.
She investigated hundreds of complaints through regular in-depth analysis of California’s ethical rules.
Before serving the state bar, Rachel was a supervising attorney for Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers, Inc., a nonprofit organization made up of five law firms that represents parents in juvenile dependency proceedings in Los Angeles County. She co-managed a staff of 30 by ensuring compliance with policies and ethical rules; performing legal research; assessing attorney performance; and providing guidance to staff attorneys in case preparation. She also provided direct representation, litigating thousands of contested matters in Los Angeles County Dependency Court.
Rachel is passionate about volunteering and mentoring in her community, and she is also a certified domestic violence counselor.
