From the beginning of his career in 1977, his practice has been devoted primarily to the representation of management in labor relations and employment law issues encompassing virtually all areas of the employer-employee relationship. For four decades, Tuck represented employers in connection with labor strikes and picketing. He acts as chief negotiator in contract negotiations throughout the country in a wide range of industries including medical, healthcare, manufacturing, service, public sector (with a special emphasis on schools and universities) and construction. Such negotiations included, in addition to conventional bargaining, buyer (successor) renegotiations, strike settlement resolution and wage reopeners. In addition to representing employers before federal and state agencies such as the EEOC and the NLRB, he tried, as first chair, numerous employment discrimination jury trials.
Tuck provided supervisory and executive training on such issues as internet, document and data retention policies, employment issues facing non-profit organizations, motivating employees, detection and prevention of harassment, union avoidance, labor contract administration, discipline and discharge of employees, ADA, FMLA and workers' compensation. Tuck has spoken at national and international seminars and conventions on such issues as non-competition agreements and practical approaches to legal proceedings.
He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1974 and received his J.D. in 1977 from St. Louis University where he was a member of the St. Louis Law Journal. He is listed on The Best Lawyers in America and the Indiana Super Lawyers lists.
