Jeff has handled all aspects of pre-trial practice, including drafting pleadings, coordinating discovery, and drafting case-dispositive and pre-trial motions. He also has experience in handling settlement negotiations and drafting appellate briefs in state and federal courts.
Jeff serves clients in the public and private sector. Namely, he has served as special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General in an arbitration against numerous tobacco manufacturers. Currently, Jeff is a member of the team assisting the Special Compliance Coordinator appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to monitor, assess and report on the U.S. export control compliance of Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment Corporation and ZTE Kangxun Telecommunications Ltd.
Additionally, his private-sector clients range from small startups to Fortune 500 corporations, from a wide range of industries, including oil and gas exploration and production companies, banks, pharmacy benefit managers, commercial chemical distributors, ingredient manufacturers, and charter schools.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Jeff was a law clerk for the Honorable David Gormley of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. He also gained experience during law school working in-house for one year at NiSource, Inc., where he assisted the legal department on regulatory, real estate and litigation matters. Prior to law school, he worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa.
