As a member of the e-Discovery and Knowledge Management Practice Group, David focuses on virtually all aspects of discovery in the single plaintiff, multiparty, and multidistrict litigation (MDL) contexts, including legal hold implementation, selecting and managing e-discovery service providers, and identifying and forensically collecting custodial and noncustodial data. He also is involved in training, overseeing and conducting quality control of large and diverse review teams, aiding in validation, and leading document production.
David’s experience includes complex civil litigation actions, such as unionization and labor disputes, multidistrict toxic tort cases, technology patent disputes, oil and gas, municipal bankruptcy, antitrust, class actions and regulatory matters.
He also has experience overseeing the review and analysis of client documents for responsiveness, privilege, confidentiality and key significance for production in consumer, patent, business, technology, energy and property cases, as well as for government investigations. He has acted as a consultant with clients and outside counsel, managing consistency and quality control review, the creation of detailed privilege logs, and the application of redactions.
Prior to joining the firm, David served as a senior consultant at a legal data and professional services company, where he led and supported a global review program for a Fortune 150 client.
While in law school, David gained experience as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, where he researched and drafted opinions, orders, and memoranda regarding disputed matters before the court. He also worked as a student attorney at the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, where he drafted briefs and argued successfully in support of matters relating to wetland preservation, wastewater discharge, and compliance with water standards.
