Dr. Lisa Seaney is a patent agent with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and experience in domestic and foreign patent prosecution, global prosecution strategies, IP due diligence, freedom to operate analyses, and patentability analyses. With over two decades of experience in patent law, she offers expertise in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and polymers, bringing a deep understanding of and extensive experience in organic chemistry.

Dr. Seaney has experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications. She has assisted in the preparation of legal opinions for pharmaceutical, fuel, and polymer inventions. Technologies with which she has experience include pharmaceuticals (including small and large molecules, compositions, formulations, dosing, and solid state), biologics, chemical synthesis and processes, medical devices, polymers, fuels, flame retardants, food science, and mechanical devices.

Dr. Seaney began her patent agent career at a boutique IP firm in Chicago. She has experience practicing in-house in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and oil and gas industries. Prior to becoming a patent agent, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a chemical process and scale-up research chemist.
