Kat’s practice focuses on governance, compliance, and organizational strategy, with experience spanning board development, transactional matters, litigation, employment issues, fundraising and gift management, data privacy, real estate, crisis response, and risk mitigation. She is known for identifying challenges early and working collaboratively with clients to craft practical solutions that strengthen operations and support long term stability.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Kat practiced at an Am Law 200 firm and served as chief legal officer for an international sorority. These roles gave her direct insight into the pressures, priorities, and decision-making realities of nonprofit leadership—experience that informs her pragmatic approach to counseling organizations as they grow, adapt, and confront complex challenges.
