Joe Kipp represents businesses, non-profits, and individuals in high-stakes commercial litigation, insurance recovery, securities litigation, and investigations. He advocates with determination and precision, helping clients across a wide range of industries address their legal needs with solutions that are both practical and persuasive. He is committed to clear and thoughtful communication from the earliest stages of a matter through resolution, whether that is achieved through litigation, alternative dispute resolution, or strategic negotiation.

Joe's experience includes conducting detailed legal research, drafting dispositive motions and comprehensive discovery requests, managing voluminous document productions, and breaking down complex arguments into simple, compelling narratives. His practice spans state and federal court, where he has both pursued and defended claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and complex statutory violations. Outside the traditional litigation setting, Joe also advises clients on actionable pre-suit strategies to avoid future disputes. He positions his clients for success by leveraging cutting-edge technology to attain the best possible results through the most cost-effective means, approaching each matter with a focus on efficiency and outcome: identifying the most direct path to resolution and executing it with care and rigor.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg full time, Joe was a summer associate at the firm. He also served as a judicial intern at the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, where he gained valuable insight into appellate decision-making and honed his skills in legal writing and analysis, experience that informs his approach to advocacy for clients today.
