Jeff Ansley is a trial lawyer who defends individuals and companies facing complex criminal charges, government investigations, and regulatory enforcement actions. With more than 30 years of experience — including nearly a decade as a federal prosecutor in the Major Fraud and Public Corruption Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas — Ansley maintains one of the most active federal trial practices in Texas.

Jeff draws on his deep government and trial experience to defend clients before the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, and other federal and state agencies. He represents Fortune 500 companies, corporate executives, physicians, licensed professionals, audit committees, and corporate boards in matters involving alleged health care fraud, Anti-Kickback Statute charges, False Claims Act matters, securities violations, public corruption, and corporate misconduct. He also advises clients on immigration-related compliance and employment practices, conducts internal investigations, and handles civil and administrative proceedings brought by federal and state regulative agencies.

As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Jeff served as lead prosecutor for the Northern District of Texas’ Securities Fraud Task Force, coordinating a multi-agency federal and state task force responsible for investigating and prosecuting complex criminal securities fraud cases throughout the district. He also served as an enforcement attorney in the Fort Worth Regional Office of the SEC, where he independently investigated a broad range of federal securities violations, including financial and accounting fraud, insider trading, offering fraud, oil and gas matters, and registration and reporting violations. While at the SEC, he was selected to serve as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney to assist in the indictment and successful trial of a former CEO responsible for a multi-year financial fraud.

Jeff's trial results include high-profile acquittals in cases where the government sought decades of imprisonment and significant financial penalties. He is recognized in Chambers USA (Band 1) for Litigation: White Collar Crime & Government Investigations, has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for Criminal Defense: White-Collar since 2018, and is consistently recognized in Super Lawyers and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.
