Haley Casper focuses her practice on insurance recovery on behalf of policyholders in complex, high-stakes coverage disputes, with additional experience in financial and regulatory compliance and litigation, and complex commercial litigation. Haley is smart, savvy and poised while getting to know her clients, their businesses and their aspirations when and if litigation becomes necessary.
Haley represents companies, national sports teams and leagues, manufacturers, and other policyholders in claims related to liability policies, long-tail environmental and toxic torts claims under general liability policies, mergers and acquisitions under representations and warranties policies, and losses arising from natural disasters and contagious diseases under first-party and business interruption insurance. Haley also has experience handling losses under ocean cargo and crime policies of insurance. In addition, Haley represents and counsels companies and financial institutions in financial and regulatory compliance and matters, including disputes involving cryptocurrency transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Haley built a strong foundation in insurance law and corporate and regulatory compliance, serving as a legal and legislative intern at the Connecticut Department of Insurance, earning J.D. certificates in both insurance law and regulation and corporate and regulatory compliance, and interning for a major insurer. That early, specialized training continues to inform the sophisticated, business-minded approach Haley brings to coverage counseling and dispute resolution today.
At the firm, Haley is also an active participant in Barnes & Thornburg’s BTPride affinity group and serves as a Co-Lead of Direct Community Involvement for the firm’s Chicago Committee on Community & Culture.
Beyond her client work, Haley is an avid volunteer, proud dog mom, an enthusiastic explorer of Chicago’s restaurant scene, and a devoted sports fan.
