Elizabeth reviews complex medical records and prepares detailed medical chronologies and case-specific medical analyses. She manages the collection of medical records through authorizations, subpoenas, and communication with providers, and she helps attorneys prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials by organizing medical evidence. She also conducts background investigations and social media research to identify information relevant to case strategy.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Elizabeth spent more than seven years as a legal nurse consultant and nurse paralegal, supporting the defense of personal injury, insurance, and non-subscriber workers’ compensation matters. Previously, she was a registered nurse and charge nurse on the neurology, epilepsy, and oncology unit at University Medical Center Brackenridge and Dell Seton Medical Center, a Level I trauma center, where she cared for spine, epilepsy, trauma, and general medical-surgical patients and precepted new graduate nurses. She also served as a clinical teaching assistant for Austin Community College’s nursing program.
Elizabeth began her career in commercial litigation by spending nearly a decade as a legal assistant. She drafted pleadings and discovery for state and federal courts in multiple jurisdictions and managed billing operations for 12 litigation partners.
