Cony Rosas is an associate in Barnes & Thornburg’s Intellectual Property Department, where she focuses on trademark, copyright, false advertising, and trade secret matters. She advises clients across a wide range of industries, from emerging startups to established corporations, on strategies to protect, enforce, and maximize the value of their intellectual property assets.
Cony’s current practice includes representing clients in litigation before federal courts and administrative agencies, as well as providing counsel on trademark clearance, brand enforcement, copyright protection, and advertising law compliance. She also has experience representing clients in Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings as well as assisting with the drafting of UDRP decisions in domain name disputes.
A native of Mexico and fluent in Spanish, Cony served as a volunteer intern at Latinos Progresando in Chicago, helping members of the Hispanic community navigate the immigration system. In her current legal practice, Cony remains deeply committed to pro bono service by leveraging her legal skills to support those in need. She regularly represents asylum seekers in complex immigration matters and also provides pro bono counsel to nonprofit organizations on intellectual property matters.
A lifelong lover of the arts, Cony is an active board member of the American Chamber Music Society (ACMS), a nonprofit dedicated to making classical music accessible to all. She is committed to furthering the organization's mission of enriching Chicago's culture through the Society's innovative programming model and educational initiatives.
