A partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department, Chad Sillman advises renewable energy project sponsors, real estate developers, private equity firms, and Fortune 500 corporations on the tax complexities of their most significant investments and transactions. Chad’s practice focuses on federal income tax matters including tax equity financing for renewable energy projects, mergers and acquisitions, and tax planning, drawing on his deep experience at major energy companies handling investments in utility-scale and distributed generation solar, onshore wind projects, energy trading, and oil and gas investments.
Chad focuses his practice on the full spectrum of renewable energy tax incentives, including investment tax credits under section 48E, production tax credits under section 45Y, carbon capture credits under section 45Q, and clean hydrogen credits under section 45V. Chad also advises clients on mergers and acquisitions and general federal income tax planning.
